Q1 2025 Investing Income Summary

Posted on April 18, 2025April 18, 2025 by Jeremy Shirey

Quarter Market Recap

What a quarter it was! The market experienced major selloffs and volatility to the likes we haven’t seen in a while. The S&P 500 was down over 4%, Nasdaq 100 down almost 8%, and the Dow down 2.30%. This was a complete reversal of the expectations in the late fall after the election. There was a lot of excitement that this administration would be pro-business and reduce regulations and that the stock market would continue to boom. Investors then started to realize that not all was as expected and the tariff discussions started which changed the mood across sectors and the bond market. Despite all these changes, our investing income is still going strong. Scroll below to see our total investing income summary.

While we have no way of knowing how things will work out, the tariff discussions along with deportation and other goals of the administration, we are likely to see a volatile year ahead. One of the great things I love about dividend investing is that no matter what the stock market is doing, a quality basket of dividend investments will continue to produce stable and growing income while we wait for the market cycles.

Q1 2025 Investing Income Summary

Q1 2025 was a solid quarter for us income-wise. Share prices have been suffering but we do not have any dividend cuts in the portfolio and that income has been used to add to positions at lower prices. We are also adding to our portfolios through dollar cost averaging new money.

One area that I have been focused on adding new money to are international dividend ETFs. I did a YouTube video on the 4 best international dividend ETFs if you want to take a look.

Here is an investment income summary of what we received in Q1 2025:

Interest: $1,742.28

Dividends: $15,919.99

Options premiums: $32,866.10

Summary

April is off to a very volatile start and until the tariff issue is settled I expect even more volatility but continuing to add new funds and reinvesting the income we received will continue to allow us to add income at lower prices, which will give us even bigger dividends in the future.

Remember to keep your cool and add money where you can, in the long run you will be happy you did!
